Antique Set of 8 Eight French Louis XV Style Oak Ladder Back Rush Seat Kitchen Dining Chairs (Circa 1910). Here is an example of a superb true set of 8 antique French Louis XV style carved oak rush seated ladder-back dining chairs of the 3rd Republic period, circa 1910, in good original condition. Carved floral motif top rail. Featuring a shaped top rail with a floral carved motif and two further shaped rails below, in the form of a ladder back design within the shaped upright supports; the chairs feature drop-in rush seats, all of which are in good condition.

The shaped seat frame incorporates a floral carved motif apron. The seats are raised on fine cabriole legs to the front (which terminate on curled toecaps), with straight legs to the rear, all of which are united by elegantly turned stretchers for added strength and stability. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of fine quality and it means they are sturdy.

The chairs feature a warm, golden brown colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received. These chairs would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the kitchen or dining room.
