19th Century Louis XVI French Empire Mahogany Gueridon Gilt Brass Mounts. Elegant late 19th century Louis XVI French Empire Revival gueridon. Made of solid mahogany throughout.
Beautiful and extensive brass mounts - each of the three sections on the skirt feature a pair of swans drinking from a fountain. Machine-turned capitals, bases and feet on each of the three legs. Six sided stars on three sides of the skirt where legs attach.
A floral reach at the center of the stretcher connecting the three legs, and a twisted, beaded rob surrounds the top. Sadly, the original marble top is missing, and will need to be replaced. There is minor wear to the finish around the outer edge of the top, and some minor hairlines and nicks. Overall lovely patina, with the usual signs of wear, but no damage or structural issues. There is a slight bit of warp to the top base where the marble would sit.
This piece will be hand delivered directly to your location. Width from End to End: 15 7/8 Across. Width of opening for Marble: 14 1/8 Across.
