This violin was made in around 1900 by Lois Collenot, who established in 1897 a very successful lutherie in Reims, France. Collenot was a grandson of Francois Caussin and served his apprenticeship under his uncle Francois Hippolyte Caussin and Justin Derazey. Very good sounding instruments of Stainer and Amati model. Small pattern instruments (LOB 35.3-35.5) which make them very demanded for violinists with smaller and normal hands.

His instruments are quite rare on market and are always praised for a sound and excellent playing qualities. This instrument was confirmed verbally by biggest authority of French violin making school, expert by French court J. P Rampal as being authentic Collenot violin, written certificate can be arranged on demand for extra 450 usd (not included in violin price). In a excellent state of preservation- no cracks, no issues. Good original Dominique Poirson bow (labeled Justin Poirson, circa 1910) included in price if your offer will meet my expectations (can be negotiated, do not hesitate to contact me).

This violin has a very clear & full tone with outstanding resonance. It has superb projection & a fast response time. It features a very well-balanced sound between the high & low registers. This instrument would be suitable for professional soloists as well as for better orchestra/chamber musicians Good player, easy to hold, very responding, made for player. New setup and new strings, fully ready to play, no further investments by luthier needed. We recently tested it in a big Symphony Hall and of course it was able to fill that room easily.
