Here we offer you an exquisite PAIR of rare French, superb quality upholstered toleware footstools- dating from the 1920's /30's but created in a Louis XVI style. X frame in heavy iron, with sun medallions at either end of crossover & barely twist central support. The seat base is solid wood with faux leather upholstery, silk braid and velvet ribbon trim across the tops and luxurious silk tassel passementerie around each lower edge.
These have the original upholstery and they are of the finest quality. The narrowness of the seat makes them a very rare & unusual find and superb to sit either side of a fire or at the ends of a sofa - they are easily accommodated & highly decorative. Good antique condition no damage - The patina on the gilded iron is delicious - it has aged, rubbed and has great character.
The seats are in good condition, no rips or damage- light discolouration- the double braid bands are time worn - but please remember this is the original upholstery. The tassel trim is complete, no damage, missing tassels or fading- all studs present. Height - 15/ 38.5cms.
