Lovely 19 Mon Cheri by Louis Prieur Unusual Body

  

Made by Louis Prieur she stands 19 tall. Head is marked: MON CHERI LP PARIS 7. Brown set eyes, open mouth with square cut teeth, pierced ears. No chips, cracks or hairlines.

Right ear has a small white spot on very inside of ear where the color did not take. This is how I bought her 40 years ago.

The torso is long and made of very thin composition or heavy paper mache. Neck has no socket, just a raw opening. Very good condition with some minor scuffs. Upper arms are composition and they are excellent. Minor rubs where the fit into the body.

Lower arms and hands are composition and match each other, but they are not original. I think they were made sometime in the 1970s. Upper legs are composition and fit nicely into torso. Openings are very good with only minor wear marks. Right leg has the number 18 embossed at the top. Left upper leg has a good portion of paint worn off where it attaches to torso. Lower sockets have minor chips/rubs.

Lower leg with attached ball are in good condition with the usual wear and loss of paint. Chins have lots of marks which do not wash off. Both feet have small chips in the paint and multiple rubs. The wig is a nice human hair from 1970s or so.

It hasnt been cut but needs a little love. Mon Cheri has an antique cotton half slip, antique pantaloons and old knit stockings. The shoes are from typical from the 1970s, soft black vinyl. Her beautiful dress was hand made and has a bustle in the back.
