Large Pair Antique French Louis XV Rococo Sea Nymph Gilt Bronze Ormolu Sconces. DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a fabulous pair of palatial antique French wall sconces. The set dates from the 19th century. Each sconce is finely crafted and detailed, and made of cast gilt bronze with finely chased detailing. The set is done in the lavish and ornate Louis XV Rococo Revival style.

Each sconce features a rocaille ormolu back plate with floral detailing issuing three dramatic swirled arm with leafed rocaille candle branches with leafed and floral detailing. A delightful black-patinated bronze figure of a baby sea nymph adorns the lower half of each sconce. The set retains its rich, original gilded ormolu finish.

The sconces will add luxury and opulence to any room! CONDITION: The pair presents well and is in good antique condition, with some display wear and patina commensurate with age. There is minor tarnish, wear, and darkening to finish, along with minor losses to gilding. There are minor casting flaws and slight distortions in each sconce. One socket is attached to bobeche but slightly loose. Both sconces are electrified and in working condition. DIMENSIONS: each 25" in height, 15" in length, 9.5 in depth INVENTORY CODE: 151X/KP/F.
