Large Pair Antique French Louis XV Rococo Gilt Bronze Ormolu Sconces Appliques. DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a fabulous pair of palatial antique French wall sconces. The set dates from the 19th century. Each sconce is finely crafted and detailed, and made of cast gilt bronze with finely chased detailing.

The set is done in the lavish and ornate Louis XV Rococo Revival style. Each sconce features a rocaille ormolu back plate issuing a dramatic swirled arm with three rocaille candle branches with leafed detailing, ornate bobeche, and Rococo candle cups.

The set retains its rich, original gilded ormolu finish and has not been drilled or modified for electricity - shown with candles (not included). The sconces will add luxury and opulence to any room! CONDITION: The pair presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor display wear, light tarnish/patina, and minimal loss to gilding commensurate with age.
