Japy Frères Louis XV Baroque Gilt Bronze Clock. A stunning original antique French clock by. It is beautifully made in gilded bronze in the Louis XV style. Waisted case with a fretted front to allow a glimpse of the pendulum gently swinging inside.

Profusely decorated with acanthus, C scrolls and floral swags. To the top is a large gadrooned urn with trailing foliage. The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper with a gilt bronze centre. It is complete with its original finely cut and blued steel hands and convex glass.

The French movement is by Japy Frères and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also excellent with slight chipping to the winding holes and hairline below the number eight. Japy Frères clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required. Height 22", Width 13", Depth 6. Height 56 cm, Width 33 cm, Depth 15 cm. All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.

We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free. For UK VAT is included in the price and we pay that for you. We use a premium courier such as UPS, DHL etc or a dedicated/specialist antiques courier.
