French Louis XV Style Silver Plated Antique Miniature Bureau Secretary

  

Up for your consideration is this stunning exquisite antique rare miniature French Louis XV style silver plated Bureau or Lady's Secretary with wonderful detail and incredible design work. The French styling is Louis XV that is cast metal that proudly boasts baroque detailing and curvaceous beauty.

It is excellent condition and has no chips, breaks or cracks. The cask is in excellent and sound condition. The original silver plate patina is excellent and the details are still sharp and clear.

The measurements are approximately 5 1/2 tall x 3" wide and 4 1/2" long. This is called minture because is it a smaller size then most.

This beautiful piece is charming for display in your curio cabinet or on your bureau or vanity as a trinket box or hold those beautiful pieces of jewelry. Molten metal was poured into a carved mold to create the components of this lovely piece. The mold was very highly detailed with multi-layered deep effects to mirror the carving of scrolling arabesques, serpentine bombe' features and raised decorative cartouche ovals, as well as acanthus leaves, and floral effects in baskets and fringed draperies. The top of the box has a central raised cartouche framed by cascading and scrolled leaf designs and arabesques. The front side has a molded lock escutcheon and molded drawer pulls for the four simulated drawers of the bureau.

Each side has a raised central bombe' curved panel and each corner is raised with acanthus motifs and deep scrolls. The legs are in cabriole shape with highly molded aprons on each side.

The bottom of the piece is detailed as well, with a molded basketry woven and upholstered effect with a central floral burst. The inside of the box is metal, with the bottom covered in red velvet, a tailored look to compliment the baroque magnificence of the exterior.
