French Louis Philippe period inlaid rosewood carriage/library clock

  
A fine Louis Philippe library or carriage clock with eight day single cylinder platform escapement movement white enamel dial with minutes marked on the outer and the hours in Roman numerals set in a rosewood case with boxwood inlays to the front and sides and fine stringing with ebonized moulding to the base. The original movement is accessed through a rear removable panel for winding and setting it runs well and keeps fairly good time which is adjustable.

This piece would have been a gentlemans travelling clock and used indoors and in his carriage circa 1830/40. 9.25 or 23cm high.

6.25 or 16 cm wide. 5.25 or 13 cm deep.
