French Jasperware Louis Pastur-Chamberland Water Dispenser Antique 1880s LAMP
Antique Microbe Filtering Water Dispenser Jar LAMP. A variation on the Pasteur-Chamberland design water filter. He developed a porcelain filter that could be used to remove micro-organisms from pressurized water. Not only was it useful for sterilizing techniques in the laboratory, it also filtered and purified water for drinking. Typically found in science museums, This has been made into a lamp so I don't know what is inside. No damage, just antique wear. The jar measures 16.5 inches high and the lamp measures 22 inches high. It takes two standard light bulbs and one large mogul style bulb.
