French Comtoise Tall Clock Morbier Sun King Louis XIV 1800s Grandfather Brass

  
We are happy to be able to offer for your consideration this French morbier Comtoise clock. Well over 150 years old, it is in very good condition for its age. It was recently decommissioned and so has been used reciently and oiled. The scene on the Brass surround, is a popular representation of Louis the 14th, the sun king. Weve handled a lot of clocks from this region of France and this particular one, for its age, is in excellent condition.

The copper enameled face has some hairline cracks and a nick but other than that its in great shape. The hands are the original Sunburst.

The box is in excellent condition. The interior workings are very clean and the clock was recently in use. Just clock me need to be cleaned and adjusted when it arrives at its final home. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
