French Antique Louis XVI style Gesso Gold frame distressed bevelled mirror

  

This is a superb antique French Mirror in the style of Louis XVI - and dating from the late 1800's. It is gesso over wood - with raised beading & rope pattern to the edges & the prettiest floral design with swags of roses and trailing ribbons over the frame- with overall original gilding.

It is also important to note that all the gesso is in good condition throughout - there is a little wear visible on the mitre joints but minimal for this style of mirror. The mirror we believe to be original to the frame - It is bevelled and perfectly distressed in a relatively small area with spotting around the edges.

The back is completely original and untouched. A beautiful French antique mirror which could be used portrait or landscape. Condition- Very Good antique condition- minimal evidence of worm (all treated as a precautionary measure) - there are signs of wear on some of the edges and corners - but all intact - Please do check out all the photos and enlarge- as they clearly show the condition and all angles of this piece.
