This stunning 19th century French Gilt Bronze Ormolu Candelabra is the epitome of taste & elegance. The level of intricacy and craft surely represents a tour-de-force for its maker. Beautifully detailed candle sconces with bunches of grapes below on'C' scroll arms suspended on an elaborate central swirling column ordained with 3 sets of male & female heads with medieval hats. The lower part of the centre support is in the form of an intricate classical column with recessed flowers on the shoulders of three mythical winged mermaids. The mermaids sit on a triangular base supported by three feet in the form of Bacchus heads.

Overall size: 19+1/4 inches high - width across the sconces 10 inches - base 7 inches across. An outstanding gilt bronze period piece that will grace any home completely original and in very good antique condition.
