Circa 1780 Louis XVI Neoclassical childs bergere armchair, French, mortise and tenon construction, rose carved crest, ribbon carving across top of back and arms, Classical leaf carved scrolled arms and turned / carved four legs, deep bowed carved skirt continuing fully around chair, original pale gold surface / white base paint. 25 tall, 18 wide, 18.5 deep. Condition excellent original finish and patina, shows wear nicely, solid , soiled upholstery. Provenance A fine English manor, White Lodge, Biggin Hill, Upper Norwood, SE19 (South London, England).
