One clutches the gilded garment firmly in his right hand beneath his breast, while another lets the garment drape from his loose grip. Above the figures is an integral harp with swirls of foliage, the finial with an old brass plaque noting Fisher & Co.
This is likely of no reference to the origins of the lamp. The figures are raised over a handsome stylized base with relief motifs of a distinctly Neoclassical inspiration, many borrowed directly from the motifs of the Louis XVI period.
A lion's head is positioned between the footer of each figure over the black-and-yellow breccia stone over a bronze rim. An exquisite and rare find.30 7/8" H x 10 1/4" W x 7 3/4 D. Condition Report: Some tarnish to gilding, light wear to patina. Rubbing loss to black chemical patina on relief: figures hands, chest, nose, etc. Wiring should be checked by an electrician prior to installing.
