This is a very lovely and finely made Antique French Sterling Silver Nutcracker with elegant Louis XVI style decoration handles. The handles are made of the finest quality French sterling silver. The design is most elegant and opulent Louis XVI style, embellished with berried laurel, acanthus, and interlaced ribbon borders. Large oval-shaped cartouches on the lower part, one of which bears hand-engraved monogram, probably LC. 1 Titre mark on the handles, to guarantee.

This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard. Measurements & Condition 6 (15.3 cm) long, weight 38.2 Troy ounces / 119 grams. Excellent Estate Condition, with some age-related light scratch marks from long years of right use.
