The coffee pot stands on the flat base and has a black wooden handle, most probably made of ebony. Both the lid and the pot bear the French.

The lid and the pot also bear the maker's mark consisting of the name. Master silversmith in Paris, was located in the rue de la Tour between 1832 and 1840. Hallmark, along with the maker's mark, allows this coffee pot to be dated between the years 1838 and 1840, during the reign of King. It is in very good condition with the exception of faint scratches, minor dents, knob on the lid little bent, not unusual for a piece that has been around for 180 years.
