Antique French Sterling Silver Coffee Pot. His handsome sterling silver lidded coffee pot is beautifully crafted in a baluster shape with motifs of large leaves and berries in relief. The coffee pot stands on the flat base and has a black wooden handle, most probably made of ebony. Both the lid and the pot bear the French.Hallmark, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. Is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. The lid and the pot also bear the maker's mark consisting of the name. Master silversmith in Paris, was located in the rue de la Tour between 1832 and 1840. Hallmark, along with the maker's mark, allows this coffee pot to be dated between the years 1838 and 1840, during the reign of King. It is in very good condition with the exception of faint scratches, minor dents, knob on the lid little bent, not unusual for a piece that has been around for 180 years. Period coffee pot will be an authentic French addition to your table setting or your collection.
