This is a very handsome and beautiful ANTIQUE FRENCH STERLING SILVER CACHEPOT, French term of decorative container for indoor plants and flowers. THIS IS A VERY LOVELY Antique French Sterling Silver Cachepot or Ice Serving Bucket, with boldly raised berried foliage swag decoration.

The term Cachepot means small Jardinière, a decorative cup, pot, or bowl intended to grace tabletop or mantlepiece, usually with plants or flowers inside. The design is crisp and modern, with classically elegant Louis XVI style swag pattern with ribbon accent. It stands on wide pedestal feet, the rim has elegant contoured mouth.

This lovely piece is wholly made of the finest quality French sterling silver. Excellent condition and ready to grace your table. 1 Titre mark on the top and the base, to guarantee. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard. Lozenge shaped French silversmith maker's mark with rooster, could not find the reference.

Measurements & Condition 4.4 in (11.3 cm) tall x 4.3 in (11 cm) diameter, the base 2.7 inch (7 cm) diameter. Weight 11.09 Troy ounces 345 grams. Excellent Estate Condition with minor sign of light use. Some usual, age-related scratch marks and dimple-like micro dents, mainly on the bottom. Otherwise in excellent shape considering its age.
