Antique French nude bronze sculpture David lion pelt by Louis Moreau 1890s

  

A beautiful antique French bronze sculpture depicting a nude young man wearing a lion pelt around his waist entitled DAVID, very nice details and old patina, this is a first casting bronze (see left arm seem and rivet this is NOT a break but the way the casting was made arm is slightly loose but solid), brass front plate reads À Mr LE PROFR H. REYNÈS SES AMIS 1903 to Mister Professor H. REYNÈS FROM HIS FRIENDS 1903, signed at the base L. MOREAU (Louis Auguste Moreau 1855 to 1919 - famous French sculptor) and marked LU 57, in very good condition, old repair to the marble base and one rod out of 3 missing (rods that are holding the marble base to the statue), some minor traces of wear commensurate with age, no breaks and no repairs to bronze, made in France, circa 1890s.
