Antique French Louis XVI Wood Prie Dieu Kneeling Prayer Funerary Bench Stool. TITLE: Antique French Louis XVI Wood Prie Dieu Kneeling Prayer Funerary Bench Stool DESCRIPTION: This is a fresh barn find from a local estate: wonderful antique French. This piece dates to the late 19th century and is finely crafted and detailed. The delicate bench is done in the Louis XVI style with nicely carved wooden frame with curved top and four small feet, with applied neoclassical trim on the apron. The bench was originally padded and upholstered by the upholstery is long gone; you can recover it or leave it as it is - the shabby chic patina is quite lovely.

This piece will add old world elegance to any room! CONDITION: The bench is in good antique, as-found, condition, with surface wear, scuffing, and patina commensurate with age. There are scattered small nicks and wear; some of the applied ornamentation around the frame is cracked or missing.
