They have the original glass, original silk brocade mounts with metallic thread trim and moire silk backing boards- quite phenomenal, after all this time - the frames are made of wood with gesso and gilding finish. This item is so totally precious and unique, so untouched by time and so useable today - Wedding photos, grand children - what a perfect setting. We have lightly cleaned and left as found.
The back protective discs are hinged and have two clips left and right of the discs to secure and open to place photos in and close. This also carries the remains of the original sticker on the verso. From top of bow(straight down/perpendicular) to base of circles- 12/30cms. Diameter of circle 4.75'/12cms.
Size of aperture 2.5/6.5cms (inside metallic trim and silk brocade). Condition - Please appreciate these will soon be 200 years old! The gilded wooden surrounds and frame are rubbed and have minuscule frits of gilding missing, but overall are in good condition, no breaks or repairs to the wood- the glass, mounts and metallic trim are in excellent condition. On the reverse one of the top hinged ares - the pins are slightly raised more that the other side - but this is not detrimental, can be seen in the photos and only mentioned for total accuracy.
