This is a lovely, art nouveau-style figural lamp by renowned French sculptor, Louis Auguste Moreau. Made in 1899, it depicts a young lady harvesting wheat with her sickle. It has a newel post base and a leafy ring around the figure. It has two bulb sockets with warm, amber-painted bulbs. It is also signed and has the Paris foundry stamp.
It came from the estate of an antique dealer in Grove City, Pennsylvania. About the artist: Louis Auguste Moreau born, was a French sculptor best known for his bronze-cast figurines. His allegorical Art Nouveau works often depicted women, children, cherubs, and historical figures adorned with floral motifs and ornaments, and were influential to other artists working at the time.
