Antique 23 1/2 French Louis Prieur socket head doll, original body

  

This doll has a perfect bisque head that's marked on the back: MON CHERI, LP, PARIS, 11. She has a most beautiful unblemished complexion. Her hand painted face has brown multi-stroke eyebrows, delicate eyelashes all around her eyes and an expertly painted open mouth.

She has her original set blue threaded glass eyes in their original plaster mounting and six molded teeth. Her ears are pierced into her head and she wears replaced earrings made from blue antique glass beads that match her spectacular eyes. She is on her original chunky (lots of wood) body that's mostly in its original paint and is in great condition.

Some of her fingers have been repaired and her feet have been repainted. She's well strung and all of her joints are flexible. She wears her original blue velvet dress that was made open down the back. Her replaced cotton underwear consists of pantaloons and a matching full slip. Her pinafore is made from very old fabric.

Everything is tied, buttoned, snapped or hooked in the back. Her head is stuffed with paper so her lovely eyes can never fall out. Her replaced wig is simply pinned to her pressed styrofoam pate.
