Antique 22 1/2 French Louis Prieur perfect bisque head doll, original body

  
This gorgeous French doll is marked on the back of her head: MON CHERI, L P, PARIS, 10. These expertly made dolls are known for their beauty and are not as commonly found as some other well known French dolls.

Her face is all factory hand painted with feathered eyebrows, big brown set glass eyes with painted lashes all around and an open mouth with six molded glazed teeth. She has pierced ears with replaced "pearl" earrings. Her head is perfect, no repairs, no repaint.

There is a surface hairline in the back above the right ear (photo # 10) but it doesn't go into the porcelain. It may have happened during the last color kiln fire at the factory.

Her head is strong and beautiful. She's on her original body that's in great condition. It has been repainted and restrung, it has no damage. It had a speaker inside in the past but it's no longer there. She wears beautiful French style clothing that was custom made for her. Her slip, knee socks and one strap buttoned shoes are original.

Her head is stuffed with tissue paper, her styrofoam pate is lightly attached and her vintage wig is simply pinned to the pate. This is an exceptionally lovely doll.
