19th Century French Gilt Bronze Candlesticks Candelabra Empire Louis Philippe
Outstanding pair of gilt bronze two-light candlesticks. These are coming from a wealthy Englewood, NJ estate that was decorated in 1953. The decorator sourced antiques directly from dealers in France. These were in the formal dining room on a sideboard. The level of detail in the casting of the top portions is outstanding. Dimensions: 14"H x 8"W; 5-1/4DIA at base. Condition: One has a repair at the thin joint just above the base. Currently glued in place, it will hold candles and function with no problem, however if much force is applied, it will break apart again. One area of darker coloration on one stick.
