Stunning and Rare 19th century French Louis Philippe Sèvres porcelain sauciere or sauce boat with lid. Features a hand-painted vingnette of flowers on one side surrounded by raised gilt flowers and a French noble, possibly 18th century Maurice de Saxe, the Count of Saxony, on the other, though the writing has rubbed off and it's difficult to read. The sauciere has an attached underplate, the lid with an embossed leaf and acorn handle.
Features the infamous Blue Celeste ground; base displays the gold Louis Philippe monogram with crown and the Sevres interlaced Ls in blue underglaze. Measures approximately 6 1/2" high to top of lid x 8" long x 5 3/4 wide and is in Excellent condition free of nicks, fleabites with very little gilt wear. A fine addition to any home or collection!
