Opa's Antiques Is Proud To Present. Frame measures 28 1/4 inches by 22 inches; image is 19 x 15 inches and features an Art Deco lady standing among a group of eager ducklings or geese as she throws a snack to the group. Icart shown left above lady's head, also marked: Edité par les Artistes Modernes, 5, Rue Scribe Paris 1927 above right of the lady's head. Signature and number at bottom along with his Windmill Watermark.
I found this and the other listed Icart (MEALTIME - Petit Dejeuner), rolled in their original holders and had them framed and matted and glassed. They have not been displayed in light and have the same coloring the artist saw as they were signed. Louis Icart's nickname was Helli derived from his initials L. Icart was born in 1890 in Toulouse and died in Paris in 1950.
He became most well known as an artist in New York in the 1920's. Do check my current and future listings for more offerings of fine estate gold and silver coins, jewelry and unique items.
