This is a beautiful French hanging wall clock in Louis XVI style. It has bronze decorations in the form of the typical Louis XVI flower- and bow ornaments. The decorations were made of a good quality bronze and everything is still in its old original authentic colours. The rest of the clock was made from heavy quality walnut wood.

It was made in about 1900. It was signed on the dial by C.

He was a famous clock maker in the 19. Century in France for the clock type called carriage clocks, he was very skilled at making clocks that are to be carried in carriages. Its enamel dial was hand-painted beautifully in a very chique way, with colourful pastel flowery motives. The hour and minute hands on the clock are very finely decorated bronze.

It was thoroughly and professionally cleaned as well and it is a very authentically antique and special piece. It is in a very good condition, as you can see in the photo. The movement itself was signed by Medaille D'or - Paris 1900 - Samuel Marti. This type of clock is called a silent clock: it does not chime. This is for people who do not like to be interrupted every 30 and 60 minutes.

It is the orginal French hourwork of this clock, that can be rewound with the key that comes with it. It works perfectly, it has been professionally cleaned and checked by an experienced clockmaker. 30 cm high - 12 inch high. 22 cm wide - 9 inch wide.
