They look to be c1900 in date, possibly late 19thC, they are as originally intended, candle sconces, but could be electrified if preferred - I could undertake this for you, it would be done sympathetically, with e14 bulb holders & faux candles as well as cloth covered twisted flex.Each is 42cm high overall x 20cm wide.
