Antique French Sterling Silver Coffee Pot. His handsome sterling silver coffee pot is beautifully crafted in a baluster shape with motifs of large leaves and berries in relief. The knob on the lid is in the shape of a flower. The coffee pot stands on three feet and has a wooden handle.

It is monogrammed with the initials. Both the lid and the pot bear the French. Hallmark, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. Is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver.

The lid and the pot also bear the maker's mark consisting of the name. Master silversmith in Paris, was located in the rue de la Tour between 1832 and 1840. Hallmark, along with the makers mark, allows this coffee pot to be dated between the years 1838 and 1840, during the reign of King. It is in very good condition with the exception of faint scratches, very tiny superficial dents, a very small chip on the wooden handle and some darkening on the interior, not unusual for a piece that has been around for 180 years.
